The basics
What is a Glitter Tag?
A simple name like @tommy that holds your crypto addresses together with their destination tags or memos. People send to the name, and their wallet fills in the right address and tag.
What's a destination tag or memo?
Exchanges often use one address for many customers. The destination tag (XRP) or memo (Stellar) is the number that says which customer the money is for. Without it, your deposit can get stuck.
Is Glitter Gold Tag a wallet?
No. We never hold keys or money. Payments go straight from the sender to you.
Which chains work?
XRP Ledger (XRP, RLUSD and other XRPL tokens), Xahau (XAH), Stellar (XLM, USDC), and Ethereum-style chains: Ethereum, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Flare and Songbird.
What's the difference between @name and @name-label?
@name is your main name for every chain. @name-label is an extra name for one particular wallet, like @tommy-coinbase. Only the owner of @tommy can create labels.
Do Glitter Tags have an ending, like .something?
No. There's no ending to buy or remember. A Glitter Tag is just @name or @name-label. Bring your plain address and its tag or memo.
Which wallets can I sign up with?
GemWallet (XRP), MetaMask (Ethereum) or Freighter (Stellar). Xaman can't sign messages yet; you can still add your Xaman address as one of your wallets.
Safety
Can someone change my Glitter Tag?
Only a signature from your owner wallet can. Changes wait 24 hours before they go live, and you can cancel them.
What if I lose my owner wallet?
Keep your owner wallet's recovery phrase safe, because it's the only way to change your Glitter Tag. We can't reset it for you, because we never have your keys. That's what keeps it safe.
Can I go back to using my plain address?
Yes, any time. A Glitter Tag only points to your addresses. Nothing about your wallets changes.
Will you ever ask for my secret key?
Never. Signing up only asks your wallet to sign a short message, which isn't a payment and costs nothing.
Plans and billing
How does the free trial work?
Every name gets 7 days free, one trial per owner wallet. No card needed.
What happens when my trial or plan ends?
The name stops answering, so nobody sends to an out-of-date address. We hold it for you for 90 days, and renewing brings it right back.
Can someone take my name if I don't renew?
After the 90-day hold, yes. For 6 months afterwards, wallets warn senders that the name has a new owner.
How do I pay?
In XRP, RLUSD or USDC on Solana, at checkout. Your plan turns on by itself as soon as the payment arrives.
What does an XRP-only name cover?
The XRP Ledger and Xahau, each with its own address and destination tag. One payment, no yearly renewal.
Do labels cost extra?
No. Labels share the plan of the name they belong to.
